I'm not a doctor or a counsellor, I’m not a Mental Health Professional in any capacity. I haven’t studied psychology or neuroscience. I haven’t done extensive research regarding the biological mechanisms by which anxiety is manifested. I don’t have the answers. This site is not meant to serve as a guide for managing anxiety or depression. It is not instructional in nature. If you are looking for advice or a quick fix, I suggest you look elsewhere. This is also not an explanation as to what anxiety is and why we experience it. I am just someone who has dealt extensively with my own anxiety and depression. This site is simply a means to share my personal story and perspectives. I strongly believe (again, not a professional opinion!) that opening up about our demons is crucial to overcoming them. I also think that bringing some normalcy to mental health challenges helps to diminish some of the power they have over us. There is comfort in knowing that we aren’t alone. Hearing how others have struggled, knowing that I am not the only one feeling this way, has been incredibly helpful. Not only is this site serving to help me improve my own mental wellness, it is also a way of paying it forward.
